About this artwork

As the most of her paintings from this series this one is about feeling and the perception of the world around us, as well as traces that it leaves on us.
Winter comes early to Iceland, where Antic is based, and she's suddenly surrounded by monochrome pallete, but with wonderful cold tones and shades captured in the contrast of bright acromatic sky and black lava stones.

Icelandic painter Jelena Antic's work has been exhibited throughout Serbia, Iceland, and the United States. Antic works in acrylic and sometimes spray paint to create series inspired by subjects ranging from the Icelandic glacial rivers to metaphysics. Antic paints very quickly, so she often works in diptychs so she can continue working on the same idea while the paint of the first work dries. Antic's works are bright, conceptual, and often involve abstract patterns.
