About this artwork

Joejene's paintings are like poems set to music in dreamlike worlds where gentleness is the common thread. Joejene uses graphic cues to guide us through his world, making us navigate his paintings with glee. Favoring the application of soothing colors, his new series of works on canvas and paper demand more than a glance. It's a contemplation akin to meditation. His language enchants us, and his magic opens the door to absolute freedom. Amazed by… the beauty of nature, he transmits his joie de vivre and shares his sensitivity with us. The simplicity of his paintings is only apparent, revealing a long-term process that results in rich, eloquent paintings, imbued with playful, light-hearted atmospheres.
