About this artwork
In this art quilt, I've created a vibrant energy through textile expression and embroidery. It consists of three layers, covered with shapes and machine-embroidered. The backing is black cotton. The abstract forms symbolize growth and connection, underscored by warm yet mysterious colors. It's meant to unleash an unbridled, positive dynamism in any room and stimulate the imagination—as if movement and life were pulsating directly within your home.
Juliette Eckel is a textile artist with a fine arts degree and a diverse background as a curator, author, and educator. She exhibits internationally. In her works, she combines ancient textile techniques such as monastic stitching with modern dyeing and printing processes, creating unique structures and an innovative textile language. Her art, often inspired by nature and the abstract, conveys the feeling that "life is art and art is life" – detailed, expressive surfaces invite wonder and experience.
