About this artwork
"Noah's Ark" is not merely an abstract composition. It is my visual retelling of an immortal story—survival, hope, and the gathering of what matters before the flood. Using palette knives and layered oil, I built a surface where abstraction serves symbolism. The warm earth tones and deep blues carry the weight of cultural memory. The fragmented forms suggest the ark emerging from chaos, yet the colors remain refined and sober, inviting contemplation.… This painting is my voice in preserving a narrative that has shaped human thought across generations. It asks you to slow down, look beyond the surface, and find your own passage within its depths.
Kamal Habib Hasan, a Syrian-born painter, primarily uses oil paint and palette knives, blending his classical training with international influences from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He employs expressive symbolism and balances abstraction with figurative forms, building textured, sculptural surfaces imbued with rational, emotionally charged color. Through historical narratives, cultural memory, and personal landscapes, he channels both vulnerability and resilience; his works evoke a deep sense of connection, hope, and the enduring weight of shared human experience.
