About this artwork
The Luberon mountain range
The Luberon is a mountain range of limestone cliffs located around 50 km south-east of Avignon in southern France (Vaucluse department, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region). The Luberon is mostly forested and used for agriculture. As in much of Provence, wine, fruit, vegetables, cereals and lavender are grown.

Kerstin Grobler is a Germany-based artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally (Europe, USA). Her distinctive expressionist landscapes are inspired by nature. Grobler usually begins her series with plein air works to experience her surroundings with all of her senses, and translates the images onto larger canvases in her studio.
Studied art at the Free Academy of Painting, Düsseldorf. Several years of further training with Prof. Markus Lüpertz.
