About this artwork
The image depicts an architectural landscape in a desolate state. The columns are either remnants of a now-destroyed building or (more or less intact) parts of an observatory.
The painting was created without the aid of artificial intelligence. Through a lengthy process involving the layered application of tempera and oil paints, among other materials, the work was created using a traditional painting technique and the latest high-quality materials.
Knut Müller is a painter trained at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts (HGB Leipzig) who primarily uses mixed media techniques in tempera and oil, inspired by the Old Masters. He paints landscapes in a sophisticated blend of parallel and fan perspectives, combined with mathematical and musical compositional methods. His style references the Early Renaissance and combines traditional pictorial composition with experimental spatiality. His works create a quiet, mysterious atmosphere that evokes emotion and simultaneously invites intellectual contemplation.
