Obsession is a deeply personal exploration of the intense, consuming nature of fixation, expressed through vivid colors, dynamic brushstrokes, and splattered textures. Rich magenta, fiery orange, deep red, and streaks of white collide and converge on the canvas, creating a sense of urgency and passion. Drips and splatters add a restless energy, reflecting the relentless force of obsession.
Thick layers of paint and contrasting hues—warm reds and… oranges against cooler purples and whites—symbolize the battle between extremes. The spontaneous white strokes cutting through the chaos represent fleeting moments of clarity amid emotional turmoil. The texture and motion in the composition mirror the shifting, unpredictable energy of obsession.
With Obsession, I wanted to convey the overwhelming pull of obsessive thoughts and feelings, inviting viewers to connect with the raw intensity and unrestrained passion that define this state of mind.
