About this artwork
Villa Florica Reich - Protected area No. 53 Private building / office spaces
Carried out by the architect Marcel Iancu, the Florica Reich Villa is among the first modern buildings of Bucharest from the inter-war period. The great avant-garde architect had the idea to integrate applied arts into architecture redesigned according to the needs and preferences of that period. Thus, under the influence of Cubism, Constructivism and Le Corbusier, the… functional architecture is dedicated to the middle class, without symmetry and ornaments and with a simple roof sloping and porthole windows. The innovation introduced by Marcel Iancu was, in particular, the invention of homes and other buildings usefulness and comfort.
