I painted this piece to explore Anubis as both guardian and guide, caught between mortal fragility and divine power. The layered, shell-like form hints at transformation—like armor that both protects and reveals the vulnerability beneath. By framing him in bold red and stark shapes, I wanted to convey a sense of ritual and reverence, an echo of ancient rites that still resonate through our modern perceptions of life, death, and what lies beyond.
