About this artwork
The work is born by perceiving the energy that is not seen through the eyes but is perceived in its vibration through local myths and culture. Yansã, in Afro-Brazilian culture is the Orixà who represents the force of nature and controls climatic phenomena, she is the one who appears when the sky rushes into the water and the wind. The work represents the energy and vibration of this Orixà above the city of Salvador.

« The inspiration is the perception of a moment when we can do something. »
Marco Stocco, an Italian artist born in 1970, lives between Italy and Brazil. Self-taught and drawn to figurative art, he began his first paintings, often depicting enigmatic female forms and faces. Along his artistic journey, Marco moved to Brazil, where he currently resides. Initially, the pace and vibrant cultural diversity of Brazil shook him and almost disoriented him emotionally, but then, through observation, he perceived and grasped new, precious creative stimuli. Marco treasures all these stimulating inner experiences, which later lead him to express new sensations in his paintings. In 2009, he created "Orpheus," his "imaginary interior photojournalist," an enigmatic and contemplative character that represents himself, channeling these sensations into which he then materially expresses them on canvas.
