In Chaos, I discovered the plasticity and ductility of the sign. The line is not rigid: it can bend, expand, thicken, change direction infinitely.
Within this continuous interweaving I understood that the sign can take many forms and that, even when it seems to get lost, a shape can always be found again.
At a certain point, I no longer saw just overlapping lines. I saw the movement of the sign itself, its ability to transform without breaking.…

Maria Carpino, known professionally as Marilù, primarily uses ballpoint pen as her medium of expression, though she also explores other media such as acrylic, ink, or chalk. This personal transformation marked the beginning of her artistic journey, enriched by experiences in Gerardo Lo Russo's studio and a solid background in psychology. Her technique is based on DoodleFlow: a spontaneous, immediate gesture in which the line emerges without premeditation, allowing forms to manifest freely, often unexpectedly, in a continuous dialogue between chaos and order. Her works convey authenticity, introspection, and the vibrant energy of the original gesture, which becomes visible emotion.
