I am a lover of colors, lightness and everything that butterflies symbolize, in this work the orange butterfly "Didyma" with black drawings of the Nymphalidae family.
I wanted to explore the complexity of the human soul through the use of pastels and charcoal. The surreal backgrounds and semi-abstract shapes express a flow of contrasting emotions, while the realism of the female face captures the depth of the human gaze. This art, full of energy… and movement, reflects the tormented beauty of living, inviting the observer to reflect on their own existence.
The work "Didyma" is a painting made with Acrylic and Pastel technique 30x40cm on Pastelmat cardboard. It will be shipped flat, carefully packaged with bubble wrap and polystyrene and shipped accompanied by the certificate of authenticity in a special cardboard box.
I am available for further information and photos.
I am a figurative artist who loves to tell silent stories through faces, flowers, symbols and light shadows. My painting is born from an internal dialogue: each work is a trace of what I have seen, experienced or simply felt inside.
I lived several years in Africa, in Kenya, and that period left a deep imprint on my artistic gaze: the colors of the earth, the liquid light of the sunset, the full smiles, the essential that becomes poetry. All of this comes back in my paintings, often in the form of memory, femininity, metamorphosis and small symbolic presences — like butterflies, hibiscus, or thought spheres.
I love classic techniques such as oil on canvas and pastels, but I use them to express contemporary emotions: fragility, strength, identity, research. I paint what is not said, what remains in closed eyes, or dissolves into a nuance.
And yes… often between one work and another I lose at least one brush, but I always find a part of myself again.
