Verstilde beelden die aanvoelen als filmstills vormen een belangrijk uitgangspunt in het werk van Marianne Constance. Binnen deze ambiguïteit ontstaan gelaagde beelden waarin onzekerheid aanwezig blijft en verandering altijd voelbaar is, maar niet volledig wordt onthuld.
Door te werken met verschillende media ontstaan composities waarin beeld en medium elkaar versterken en verdiepen. Haar werk verkent geconstrueerde werelden die tegelijk vertrouwd en vervreemdend aanvoelen en ruimte laten voor interpretatie.
