About this artwork
I've always found solace in the quiet moments of dusk when the world seems to hold its breath just before the night takes over. Through this painting, I aimed to evoke this same feeling of calmness with the viewers or inspire them to search for their own silent place. 'After sunset' is an invitation to pause, breathe, and appreciate the simple yet profound beauty that surrounds us every day.
This particular vibrant dusk scene depicts a simple view… from my window, a place where I often sit in peace and watch the sky transform. The sight of the clouds and sky slowly shifting shapes and colors as the sun sets, and the night approaches is the most wonderful and soothing experience that helps me find balance and quiet my mind.
The vibrant, warm terracotta hues and soft, mellow yellows of the clouds embody the last bursts of energy before the day yields to the night. The darkening silhouette of the tree in the foreground gives a sense of mystery and subtle melancholy.
