About this artwork
Inspired by the vaulted ceiling of the first installation site, which was copied 1:1 in an HDF and MDF wood fiberboard construction and rotated 180° to lie on the floor, the shape of the torso of a ship or a giant emerged as a ribbed structure. This echoes the earlier torso theme in my concrete sculpture and leads to the baroque themes of MEMENTO MORI and VANITAS. The monumental representation of transience
