About this artwork
“Winter’s Discontent” unfolds like a storm trapped in silence—an abstract elegy to the cold unrest beneath stillness. Layers of deep blue, black, and gray churn across the canvas, evoking frozen landscapes and emotional frost. Jagged white splatters and streaks slice through the darkness like fractured light or brittle ice, suggesting tension, rupture, and the ache of isolation. The painting pulses with restrained energy, as if something buried longs… to break free. It captures the paradox of winter: its quiet beauty and its latent violence. Each drip and gesture feels like a whispered protest against numbness, a visual howl muffled by snow. My composition invites viewers to feel the weight of suspended time, the melancholy of dormant hope, and the subtle rebellion of nature refusing to be still. “Winter’s Discontent” is not just a season—it’s a state of being, where the soul shivers and waits for thaw.
