Among the series that interest me, one of the most important is the mask, a classic in figurative art. I've delved into the cultures of sub-Saharan Africa, researching the meaning various tribes attribute to these masks, which are typically used for propitiatory rites or to purify souls. Hence, I've reinterpreted them in a contemporary way and in my own style. This has led to a series and various exhibitions titled "Magic." Note that this mask has… two mirrors inside the eyes to reflect itself...
NB: the total height indicated is with the pedestal, the mask without the pedestal measures 45 x 27 x 10 cm.
Massimo Sansavini, painter, sculptor, and digital artist, stands out for his training in Ravenna and his extensive international exhibition history. He uses a unique technique of colored and lacquered wooden interlocking pieces applied to aluminum foil, creating works that blend painting and sculpture, often inspired by nature and social dynamics. His works exude a playful and disenchanted dimension, inviting the viewer to reflect on human relationships and rediscover the wonder of childhood.
