About this artwork
"Ines" is one of the portraits of people who have impressed me. I met her as a friend of my son. She is a free thinker, unwavering in her style, and so beautiful in her uniqueness. The colors and shapes capture her personality with all its shrill, yet subtle, facets. It's one of my personal favorite pictures.

Michaela Kuhl is a painter who works primarily in watercolor and oil techniques. She is a survivor of the 2004 tsunami, incorporating her experiences into her artistic development. She uses layered painting techniques that symbolize transformation and growth, as well as poetic titles to open up access to the depth of her paintings. Her works convey courage, hope, and the power to draw personal growth and strength from challenges—especially for women.
