About this artwork
Cyanotype print on canvas.
Created from a series of photos (and negatives of) that the artist took the last time she went elvering with her partner in 2020. The geometric angles and translucency of the net, especially when lit by street lights at night, create a great image. I some respects the street lit net at night became both positive and negative, the artist couldn't decide which was best so combined the two.
Originally the idea had been to… be make a large screen print of the image, but with a lack of facilities and space this was going to be tricky. As an alternative the artist eventually created a reasonably large scale cyanotype, this is currently on show at the RWA Annual Open in Clifton, Bristol, UK.
