About this artwork
In Beyond, I explore and propose spaces where familiar visual landmarks fade or blur, giving way to a freer, more open sensation. This series, initiated in 2025, allows me to create images that exist between matter and suspension, between inner landscape and unknown territory. For me, each work is an invitation to look differently, to enter a space where perception can shift, slow down, and open itself to what lies beyond the visible.
Paul Émile Rioux, a Montreal-based artist and photographer with a hybrid background (film, communication, marketing, and image), has been exploring digital creation and photography since the 1990s. He works between abstraction and figuration, constructing virtual landscapes that he models in 3D, intentionally incorporating algorithmic anomalies. His light dilates time and blurs perception, immersing the viewer in fascinating transitional spaces between reality and fiction. He seeks to evoke cognitive vertigo and wonder, inviting everyone to question their perception of the world and their personal memories of places.
