A warm, bright beam of light falls on a shimmering green, calm body of water. Huge, round water lily leaves with an upturned edge and three water lily flowers float majestically on the surface of the water, almost completely covering it. The petals, shimmering in ivory white and pink to crimson red, shine with a deep inner power that radiates a magical fascination. Their mystical, ethereal light makes them appear delicate and mysteriously fragile…
despite their size and geometric severity.
Peter Knauer also remains abstract in his work Seerosen III. From numerous glazed layers of color, it forms shapes and surfaces that, in the eye of the viewer, form a natural world of images.
