About this artwork
This painting depicts the sunken underwater city of Heracleion with ancient artifacts and ruins discovered underwater. The focus of the statues, the sphinx, the ruined palace, the lion statue, the priests - all reflect the rich historical heritage immersed in the depths of the sea. The city and its architecture are evidence of an ancient civilization swallowed up by water and time.
Fish swim serenely in the background, creating an atmosphere of… calm in the aquatic environment. The seaweed slowly sways under the water, giving the painting a sense of fluid movement and mystery. At the top of the painting you can see small rays of light penetrating the water, creating the impression of a mystical light penetrating the depths of the ocean.
The overall impression of the work is mysterious. Diving into the sunken city with its artifacts invites reflection on time, lost civilization and the nature of human presence in the history of the planet.
