About this artwork
This painting was previously part of my private collection and has not been available to purchase until now. I would like to share with you the story behind the creation of this piece. I woke up one morning with this powerful image and title stuck in my head. That day I rushed over to my studio on a brisk day and feverishly painted this work until it was done. I was filled with emotion throughout the creation of it. I passed out that night, exhausted.… I was woken up the next morning by my girlfriend telling me that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I was shocked along with the rest of the world and remained glued to the television for what seemed like months afterwards. Only after a couple of days had the significance of this painting sunk in. It was an emotional premonition of sorts and it still gives me chills to think about it to this day. It is a powerful painting, filled with bold vibrant colors and emotion, reminiscent thematically of Edvard Munch's "The Scream".
