About this artwork
Immersing myself in nature, I stop to observe the slow growth of a blade of grass, a bud, a leaf, a branch.
In the suspended time of observation, I recognize familiar signs in plant forms: movements, gestures, anatomies that recall the human being.
In the small acts of growth, I see fragments of ourselves: the vegetation transforms, takes shape, and at times seems to humanize.
Through these subtle correspondences, I find a deep connection between… the human body and the natural one, like roots that intertwine with our very being.
Roberta Crepaldi is a self-taught painter, trained in geometry and an artistic career that began in Venice. She uses oil and acrylic techniques to mix figurative and abstract art in an expressionist and gestural language, characterized by extemporaneous brush strokes and bold signs. With her landscapes of memory and fluctuating chromatic variations, Crepaldi expresses an interior vision halfway between dreamlike and direct observation, evoking emotions born from interactions with nature and the rhythms of life.
