About this artwork
I created this photograph by looking into the surface of the river, where the reflections of the sky, passing clouds and surrounding trees dissolve into an almost abstract landscape. The current and tiny air bubbles disturb the water and bend the shapes, evoking the feeling of lying by an Adirondack river in northern United States and gazing at the light on the water. By focusing only on the interplay of light, color and movement on the river's skin,…
I invite the viewer to lose their bearings and drift between sky, forest and flowing water.

« I switched from science to art to make people dream. I love to make reality look surreal in order to challenge the mind and be more open to the world around us. »
Robin Cerutti is a prize-winning photographer based in Canada whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Mexico, France, Belgium, and the United States. He employs photography as a medium to escape and challenge the first perception of reality. While Cerutti does not convey any outright theories in his art, his credits his physicist background as playing a major role in his artistic expression. His goal is reached is his compositions cause a "dreamy state" in viewers.
