About this artwork
“Breaking Gold” is part of my Golden Walls Series, where I explore how the spirit resists confinement and reclaims its light. I created this piece as a silent rebellion—a meditation on the moment when grace defies gravity, and freedom begins within. The dancer, encased in a frame of crumbling gold, symbolizes the feminine will that refuses to surrender. Though the walls may crack and decay, her motion continues—fluid, fearless, eternal.
For me, Breaking… Gold speaks of transformation: how beauty can emerge from boundaries, how resilience can coexist with fragility. It is a dialogue between decay and opulence, silence and strength. I wanted this work to capture that paradox—the power to dance even within walls, to turn confinement into creation, and pain into radiance. Through it, I honor the unbreakable spirit that keeps rising, shimmering, and choosing to move toward light.
