About this artwork
“Desert Dance” is about the freedom and joy that arise when we fall into rhythm with nature. I chose the desert because it is vast, overwhelming, and easy to get lost in — yet the figure’s posture and carefree movement show that she is not consumed by its ambiguity. Instead, she becomes attuned to it.
As in my other works, dance becomes a way of living: a language of presence, courage, and surrender. This piece reflects the peace, calm, and quiet… ecstasy that emerge when we find harmony with ourselves and with life, regardless of circumstances. In that state, even the desert transforms into a playful, expansive field — a space to celebrate the beautiful experience we call life.
