About this artwork
This painting is inspired by my local landscape. I love to see the wild flowers growing along the edges of fields and enjoy the colours and movement they bring to the landscape. It is a hazy summer's day with a soft light. The sky is a pale blue but flecked with a neutral colour that adds texture and warmth. The distant trees and hedges in green are simply portrayed and the colours of the foreground are stronger. Turquoise and touches of a more vibrant…
orange add a lively touch to the painting. Just a hint of some poppies in bright red add focus along with the giant hogweed in the foreground. Painted with impasto acrylic paint using a palette knife this painting is full of texture and vitality.
