About this artwork
In mesoamerican indigenous culture, all aspects of the world, human and natural, had spiritual power. Maíz, as a food plants that gave life, was worshipped and celebrated with festivals and offerings. Maíz was seen as the all-encompassing key to life, an everlasting spiritual, cultural, and communal sustenance.

Tariq Dajani is a photographer and printmaker whose richly multicultural background infuses his work, spanning digital Giclée prints and the intricate practice of photogravure.
