About this artwork
This diptych explores the sensation of renewal and upward movement associated with early spring. Soft yet dynamic layers of blush pinks, muted greens and luminous light tones interact across both canvases, creating a continuous field of color and gesture.
The composition is built through expressive palette-knife work and layered brushstrokes, allowing areas of density to contrast with lighter, more atmospheric passages. Subtle red accents introduce… energy and rhythm, preventing the palette from becoming merely decorative. The result is a balance between tenderness and momentum — a sense of form unfolding and expanding in space.
Although suggestive of blooming forms, the work remains fully abstract, focusing on movement, texture, and emotional resonance rather than representation. The two panels function as a unified composition, enhancing the feeling of growth and flow across the surface.
The edges are painted as a continuation of the composition.

My path into art was not traditional. I came to painting after a successful career in biology, where I earned a Ph.D. in veterinary virology and microbiology. This background continues to shape my approach — through structure, layering and attention to detail.
My work focuses on layered abstraction, where color, texture and gesture create depth and movement. Rather than depicting specific subjects, I build compositions that evolve through accumulation and subtle shifts.
I was born in Central Asia and now live in Norway. This contrast informs my palette: warmth and density balanced with calm, light and space. My paintings often combine these qualities, creating works that feel both grounded and atmospheric.
