In Pre-Historic Landscape, I invite us to imagine a world that has slipped free of human history — a world returned to its own primal dreaming. This vivid, sweeping work conjures a time before recorded memory, where earth’s forces shaped land, sky, and sea in ceaseless, unobserved motion. Rather than looking back in nostalgia, Pre-Historic Landscape… offers a vision of cyclical renewal. It suggests that after the Anthropocene — the human-dominated epoch — the earth will not simply end, but will reimagine itself in new and ancient forms. The painting resonates with contemporary ecological thought, reminding us that the planet's story is far longer and stranger than our brief chapter within it.

Tillian is an award-winning artist based in Australia whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally.
