In this piece, I sought to capture the essence of tranquillity and introspection. Through the interplay of oil and charcoal, I've rendered the figure in both a figurative and semi-abstract style, embodying a moment of repose. The sweeping charcoal strokes suggest a fleeting, dreamlike state, inviting viewers to pause and reflect. It’s an homage to the quiet moments that recharge our spirits, offering a calm energy to any space it inhabits.

Tracy Ostmann-Haschke (b.1969, Saint Louis, Missouri) is a Chicago based interdisciplinary artist with a focus in painting. Her work is most associated with representing and every-day genre, from exploring the mundane aspects of daily life to the extraordinary events that most can identify with. She is a recipient of a CAAP grant. Her work is displayed by private collectors in the United States and abroad as well as corporate and public spaces. She currently resides and works on the West Side of Chicago in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.
