About this artwork
In this picture the artist returns to her expressive painting style. Her expressive, swinging brushstrokes and her joy in strong colors are unmistakable. First, in her usual fashion, she activated the canvas with water-soluble graphite pencils and then worked on it with several "washes" of acrylic inks. This requires several steps: first the ink is applied with a pipette so that it runs over the hanging canvas, then water is sprayed on and the color…
is partially washed out again. The canvas is rotated more often so that the paint runs in different directions and slowly fills the area. The various steps are carried out several times until the result is satisfactory. Then the drying process begins. When the background is completely dry, paint is applied with a brush; lively, pure, vibrant colors alternate with neutral and calmer tones.
