About this artwork
The painting “Spring in the Park” – a bold ode to color and form. An ancient tree rises from the canvas like a royal pillar, its trunk and branches marked in deep, shimmering blue, as if spring were wildly inscribing the blue of the sky onto the earth. The gnarled limbs reach for the heavens, yet their shadows fall like shadows over the light on the ground.
The background pulsates with a spring awakening of colorful accents; here and there, a hint… of lavender and indigo creeps into the landscape, as if the suggested crocuses themselves were whispering a secret poem. Violet splashes dance on the ground – a vibrant community of flowers giving spring its rhythm.
This scene shows a park in the north of Germany, in Husum. Every late march this park get a violett carpet of millions of crocuses.
