About this artwork
I rarely have any idea of what a painting should ultimately look like. That was the case with this work. The only thing that was clear to me was that it should show the fire, the intensity, the pressure, and the heat involved in the refining process of gold. Ultimately, the shine and radiance of pure, refined gold should also be visible in some form. So I began working and noticed that with each layer, a little more of what I actually wanted to show…
emerged. During the creative process, I also felt the fire myself from time to time in the form of impatience, frustration, or helplessness. The small elements that were ultimately gilded with gold leaf, which now make the entire work shine in their splendor, were part of the first layer I applied to the canvas. They, too, had to go through a process before they could reveal their beauty and purity. Now the finished work stands and proudly bears the name "refined."

From file folder to canvas art / Where opposites meet
Precisely because my professional path was rather “dry,” I always sought balance in creative work.
After several years of experience in silk and watercolor painting, I developed a desire to express my freedom more fully. This is how I discovered my current great passion in acrylic painting and mixed media. I learned the craft from internationally renowned artists. I continued to educate myself in my own studio.
My images suggest the traces of the long process it often takes to find inner peace. They depict a broad spectrum of life—moments of joy, courage, and lightheartedness, but sometimes also moments of frustration, vulnerability, and chaos.
I don't want to provoke with my art, but rather build a bridge - from a stressful everyday life to a world in which our soul can find peace.
