Amber Geuns (born 1999) is a Belgian artist who works primarily in the mediums of painting and drawing. She earned her master’s degree in painting from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2022, where she developed a strong foundation and a distinctive artistic style. At the core of her practice lies the design and creation of life-sized costumes, each constructed to embody the characters within her paintings. These costumes enable her to immerse herself fully in the world she aims to depict, allowing for precise prediction of movements and interactions within the scenes. The inspiration for her work is drawn from a variety of sources. She is particularly drawn to the contrast between light and dark, strength and vulnerability. A defining feature of her work is the anonymity of the characters she portrays. This deliberate choice serves to shift the focus from individual identity to the emotional resonance of form and fabric.
