Angelo Asaro, an Italian artist based in London, combines his engineering training and international experience in a refined pictorial language. He experiments with a style of painting that blends figurative realism and symbolism within rigorous compositional structures, giving rise to what he calls Noetic Surrealism.
His works explore themes such as identity, time, memory and the fragility of existence, giving shape to existential questions that remain imprinted in the viewer's mind as mysterious internal resonances.
His research has been recognized with several international awards and has been presented in important contemporary art contexts, including the Florence, London, and Milan Biennales. At the Venice Biennale, his work was presented through a critical synopsis at the Grenada Pavilion. Asaro was also included in the Atlas of Contemporary Art, presented at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
