Bert Van Zelm is a talented Dutch artist who has participated in exhibitions and residencies in Italy, the Netherlands, US and UK. Interested in studying the idea of how paintings lack space and time, he concentrates on pushing colour and clarity to the limit, creating mystery and satisfying his own fixation for shining elements. Van Zelm seeks foremost to surprise himself with what he makes; to surprise others - in his own words - would merely make him a clown.
