Christoph Mandera, inspired by his Catholic childhood and the aesthetics of religious church windows, is a painter in the classical sense. His works feature pure, unmixed colors, expressively defined by black lines, and fill the picture surfaces and edges with diverse symbols, figures, and comic-like elements – a pop-like effect. He dynamically stages landscapes, symbols, and everyday heroes. His consistently optimistic art reflects the facets of life and touches the viewer with a blend of drama, comedy, longing, and hope.
