Derrick Breidenthal is an award-winning artist based in the United States whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Switzerland. He cites color as underlining all of his observations and as being the driving force behind his artistic practice. For Breidenthal, his color selection is "the first sentence in the story", whereas the landscape, format, texture, form, line, and composition are simply there to sustain the first sentence.
