The characters and scenes from life are the main reasons for Françoise Cosmao’s paintings. The French artist, who has exhibited extensively in France, is also fascinated by movement, the play of colors, and varying materials. Cosmao mainly works with oil paints, which she enriches with pigments, as well as chalk powder and turpentine from Venice. She then manipulates the material using a knife and glaze.
