About this artwork
In this work I used oil, sand and pigments to create a visual symphony, exploring the depth of abstraction. Each brush stroke and each grain of sand tell a story of escape and raw emotion, where shapes seem to emerge from the depths to flirt with the light. My intention was to capture a feeling of total immersion, inviting the viewer to delve into a world that is both enigmatic and welcoming. This art would bring an energetic and contemplative presence…

The characters and scenes from life are the main reasons for Françoise Cosmao’s paintings. Cosmao mainly works with oil paints, which she enriches with pigments, as well as chalk powder and turpentine from Venice. She then manipulates the material using a knife and glaze.
