Raised amidst solitude and pain, Horace Johnson sought refuge in his creative endeavors, gradually escalating from spoon sculptures to mesmerizing paintings. He delicately uses techniques like glazing and collage to morph pre-existing subjects into surreal entities, navigating themes of beauty preservation, vanity, and obsession. His works, a visceral exploration of subjective perfection, speak to the soul, coaxing audiences to grapple with their perceptions of self and beauty.
