Isabelle Vicherat - Draftsman
"When I express myself artistically that is when I feel that I fully exist."

Living between Paris and Marseille, Isabelle Vicherat is an artist of multi-mediums who was born in Paris in 1983.  Her work revolves mainly around the representation of the human body and is a combination of installation, video and drawings.

Art as a means of expression

A shy and introverted child, Isabelle Vicherat quickly developed her powers of observation.  From early on in her life, art served as a refuge, a land of freedom where she could express her feelings, her dreams and her fears.  Little by little, she began to understand that this landscape would also enable her to reveal and to share, that this was a way to feel that she fully existed.  So, she decided to study at the Beaux Arts where she obtained her Higher National Diploma in Plastic Arts in 2009.  Since then, she has worked full time on the realisation of her artistic projects.

Human vestiges

Isabelle Vicherat is an artist of multi-mediums whose artistic work mainly revolves around the representation of the human body, its gestures, traditions, objects, and more precisely, the traces of a human which she revisits in order to reveal a symbolic dimension. The artist isolates herself in order to draw, inspiration comes to her spontaneously and intuitively in an intimate environment.  Her drawings which are often the foundations for her art, serve as the basis for the rest of her artistic expression.  From these, the videos and installations follow which convey in a more profound manner, the human being, their footprint and their interactions.

An artist who is already internationally recognised

The works of Isabelle Vicherat have been shown at numerous private and public exhibitions in France and abroad: in Armenia, South Korea, Germany, Nigeria and China.  The artist has also won several scholarships and prizes such as the International Takifuji Art Award in Japan
