Julius Bfil, a Yugoslav-born, New York and Connecticut-based painter, is formally trained in Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade and specializes in acrylics on canvas, enriched by decades of professional practice. He employs layered textures, surreal forms, and abstract symbolism using palette knives, sponges, unconventional tools, and mixed media, resulting in a highly tactile and expressive visual vocabulary. His work delves deeply into the human psyche and subconscious, stirring dreamlike contemplation and inviting viewers into a visceral, transformative emotional experience.
