Manfred Metz

Manfred Metz, trained in the use of natural materials, uses wood specifically as the medium of his art. His craft includes sculptures, steles and installations whose complex grain is the expression of his skills. Metz captures the transience and permanence of wood and invites the viewer to explore and celebrate the harmony between man and nature.

I enjoy the creative process with local woods. The Shou-Sugi-Ban technique gives the sculptures a unique, aesthetic surface structure.
