About this artwork
In my artwork, I unfold the natural beauty of pear wood into a visual harp melody. It seems as if the silent, graceful musical instruments carry stories within them and also allow sounds to resonate only in the mind. The rhythmically arranged columns reflect harmony. This pair of sculptures brings a welcoming, earthy energy to any room, filled with warmth and artistic inspiration.
The two bases with bark are made of the same wood.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Manfred Metz, trained in the use of natural materials, uses wood specifically as the medium of his art. His craft includes sculptures, steles and installations whose complex grain is the expression of his skills. Metz captures the transience and permanence of wood and invites the viewer to explore and celebrate the harmony between man and nature.
I enjoy the creative process with local woods. The Shou-Sugi-Ban technique gives the sculptures a unique, aesthetic surface structure.
