« I'm fascinated by how poetry and words can be interpreted, and recall emotions, differently. I look for new ways of presenting poetry, I want to push it through form beyond form, to dissolve words into emotions and movements. »
Established Italian artist Opiemme's artworks powerfully express the poems, thoughts, quotes and phrases which she wishes to share with the viewer, to renew societies connection with poetry through art. Poetry that has relevance to contemporary issues, Opiemme beautifully utilizes a variety of mediums and techniques to bring these powerful messages to his audience. Working on canvas, with maps and recycled materials each piece draws the attention of the viewer who is rewarded upon closer inspection, intricately detailed and imaginatively presented, words which are as relevant today as when they were penned.
