"I wanted to characterize my handwriting not with a calligraphic form, but with emotions. And here they are, these calligrams that, if drawn with paint brushes, pens, markers… or china ink, they are reminiscent of a script from other times, when quill pens were used. The word is deformed becoming a string, a sound, a movement. The calligrams themselves dissolve.

« I'm fascinated by how poetry and words can be interpreted, and recall emotions, differently. I look for new ways of presenting poetry, I want to push it through form beyond form, to dissolve words into emotions and movements. »
Established Italian artist Opiemme's artworks powerfully express the poems, thoughts, quotes and phrases which she wishes to share with the viewer, to renew societies connection with poetry through art.
