« The landscape is an illusion: once you get in, it is gone. My paintings are an illusion too, not an existing place, but a composition with all kinds of landscape elements. »

Rob van Hoek is an experienced artist from the Netherlands whose work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions internationally. After visiting many art museums as a child, van Hoek eventually took up a practice of his own, creating patchwork style landscapes in oil and cold wax on canvas. His paintings are full of textures and complementary color schemes, bringing a semi-abstract take on traditional landscape painting.
